Embracing the Wolf is the second book in the Anna Avery series. first was Taming the wolf. It is a good one, only little minus point is that Anna was in this one a bit to whiny sometimes in it.With that been said, it picks right up where book one left off, we read about Anna and Adam who have the big yearly event of the wolfs to host.
Which means Adam's parents are there too and many other clans, it appears that someone is clearly after Anna and Adam too?
His parents who are royalty in the wolf world are not to happy with Anna who is a made wolf.
Tension goes up high when the have to find out who is after them, Adam's mother makes Anna believe to go away, that it is the only chance to keep Adam safe. Will she give in and leave Adam's side? The end is surprising for most I think, I did figure it out at a point. It is a good flowing story and has also vampires in it. Go get it, you won't regret it.

I read a lot. But its not always easy to find a new series or a good story. This was a great book 2.....I read the entire thing in one day. The only thing that kind of sucked was Anna's kiss. Totally hated that she caved into that one and might have ruined something pretty great. But I am now anxious to see how Book 3 continues her story.
Great series, characters and writing I've loved every word. This is my first time reading anything by Stephanie Nelson so I'm happy to say I've found another author who can tell a great story and that I really enjoy. Thank you.
This is the second book in the series "Anna Avery".
This book is fantastic and picks up right where book 1 left off.
Anna and Adam are bonded but Adam's parents do NOT approve of this at all!!
Someone is after Anna or is that Anna and Adam??? The person who is after Anna was a total SHOCK to me - and I will not say more because I do NOT want to ruin the book for you.
Anthony (Adams's twin brother) is obsessed with Anna and insists that there is something between them. Is this just because they are twins?? or - Is it something more???
I am eager for book 3 in this series - can hardly wait to find out what happens next!!
Embracing the Wolf is another great book to the Anna Avery series. I am so hooked on what is going on with Anna becoming Adams Chante. Coming into her wolf alone seems to have been struggling enough but add in a hot alpha male and his pack brings a whole lot of entertainment. I couldn't help but feel for Anna being under so much pressure and struggling to be who she really is and keeping it all balanced. Then let's add all the Anthony drama and you've got a page turner! I love and read all of Stephanie Nelson's books and cannot wait for the next.
Awesome second book to the Anna Avery series. Anna's character seems to be coming unto her own as the Alpha female. Adam is under a threat from an unknown person. The annual pack conference is held at her mountain. Craziness ensues when other females try to come after Adam. The "Chante" brand shows up on her hand. It can represent love eternal or the death of half of your soul. Which one will it be? I also loved the developments with Adams brother Anthony. I hated him at first but he's really growing on me. Anthony is turning into a nice twist. The ending kinda makes you wonder where book three will leave our love triangle. But I am ready to find out. Great read!
I always hesitate to read a "Book #2" of any series. Especially when Book #1 was so good that you read it twice. So I began Book #2 a bit leary.... I should NOT have worried! WOW, Embrace the Wolf immediately sucked me back into the world of Anna and her wolves. Dare I say it was better than #1 and absolutely left me wanting more at the end... But I have to say, the end of Book #2 did not "leave me hanging" in a bad place. I felt that the story for Book #2 was its own unique story..Not a "tween" book. (You know what I mean, that book that you look forward to, only to have it give the same plot as Book #1 or a very long and drawn out prelude to Book #3 = tween) Embracing the Wolf was a great story that brought me along to places and situations I would never have expected of Anna. However, due to Stephanie's writing, I was able to go with the plot and truly enjoy it. With that said, I eagerly look forward to Book #3. As they say "the plot thickens" and I cannot wait to jump back in!
I am very picky about werewolf books. It's really not a subgenre I enjoy. However, Stephanie Nelson's interpretation of the classic legend and the world she has created are the wonderful exception to my rule.
I read TAMING THE WOLF and liked the story. It had elements of a good mystery-murders were happening, and our heroine, a new wolf, was suspected-a love story-she was drawn to her Alpha, who was already mated-and the paranormal-werewolves, of course! It was a good beginning. But I have to admit that I enjoyed this follow up even better.
Anna has matured a bit, has, as the title implies, begun to embrace her inner wolf. She's found love (I won`t say with whom, in case you haven't read book 1) and she is integrating into her pack. But of course, there's still conflict. She has to deal with visiting wolves, including the family of her lover, who are pure wolf snobs. Someone's trying to kill her. And her Chante, the mate chosen for her by destiny, might not be whom she thought it was. Well, the path of true love never did run smooth. Oh, and did I mention there might be. . .vampires?
The story here is solid, the plot intriguing and the characters continue to be well-drawn and complex. But what drew me in was the substory of Anna's empowerment in the face of those who see her as less than they are, she proves to be even more than she thought she could be.
I can't wait for the third book to see the rest of this story play out. I hope we see Anna's strength continue to grow. . .and I'm not entirely sure who I'm rooting for in the love story. We'll just have to see.
Five stars for a thrilling and sizzling hot read. Don't miss it.
