I loved the concept of these heartbroken women that had been done wrong getting the strength and creating a career out of catching cheaters and helping other women out in Dirty Exes. I enjoyed the characters and definitely wanted to get more of them. Especially from Jesse, mainly because I was torn about him in Dirty Exes. I felt bad for him because of the situation he was in with Vanessa but I also found him to be a little shady. As for Isla I really liked her in Dirty Exes and was getting on board with a possible pairing between the two. I tend to have a hard time with friends dating a friends ex but the way Rachel wrote them in Dirty Exes with Colin and Blair & now Jesse and Isla in Dangerous Exes, it had me changing my thoughts.
I may have started to get on board with Jesse and Isla in Dirty Exes but oh man was I rethinking all of that when I started reading Dangerous Exes! Jesse was getting me sooo irritated with his irrational anger and blaming Isla for all his problems!!! Hello he brought the stuff on himself!! Dude should have just manned up a long time ago and settled his business! Sorry rant over, as you go further into the book and really get to know Jesse and Isla better you start rooting for them again.
These two characters have been burned pretty badly in their past and this story is them finally healing from those old wounds, learning about who they are as single people, as well as who they are when they are around each other. And it turns out that they push each other’s buttons in the best of ways and bring out the best in each other. Overall this is another great book by Rachel Van Dyken!

Dangerous Exes by Rachel Van Dyken is the second book in her latest series, Liars, Inc., . A spin-off set in the same world as her Wingmen, Inc., series, this is the story of two scorned women who have taken the dregs they were dealt in their past relationships and turned into a goldmine business that specializes in proving (or dis-proving) the infidelity of a loved one. The two creators Isla and Blaire are bombshell, take no crap women.

Isla is the target of Jessie Beckett's wrath. Initially, he was a target for their company. Hired by his now ex-wife to try and prove he was unfaithful turns out she was the one cheating and was using Isla & Blair's business to try and screw him over. But Jessie is a stickler for public image and his crazy ex is running his name through the mud and he blames Isla. Stuck between a rock and a hard place Jessie & Isla get talked into being in a fake romance by their two best friends, Colin and Blaire. It was a bad idea that just keeps getting worse as time goes on. Add in a crazy Goo-Poh grandmother of Isla's and that public image is really taking one for the team.

Quirky, well-written, well-paced, angsty and emotional and sexy. Loved it - RVD is one of my must-read authors and this book did NOT disappoint. Enjoy!
When I was reading Dirty Exes I kept wondering what the heck Blaire saw in Jessie. I didn’t get it, he didn’t seem interesting to me at all. Colin was definitely the better of the two men. So when I saw that Dangerous Exes was Jessie again, I had to consider that maybe I missed something. When I saw that Isla was going to be his love interest, I knew I had definitely missed something, so I read on.

I should have never doubted Rachel Van Dyken. Jessie...oh deal Jessie. He is so much more than I saw in the first book. And Isla brings the best (and sometimes the worst) in him, which is absolutely hilarious to read. This book was so much fun, I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed every second of Jessie and Isla’s antics, the chemistry-filled tension between them, and every single moment with Isla’s crazy, elderly aunt.

I highly recommend Dirty Exes and Dangerous Exes. Both books are hilarious and a lot of fun to read. I’m finding myself really enjoying Rachel Van Dyken’s writing and I’m realizing I have a lot of work to do to catch up on her backlist. But I know it will be worth it.
The first 50 or so pages were eye roll worthy. Both main characters came across as childish and extremely stupid. For a moment there I was even considering to DFN the book. I am glad I didn't because it did get better but if I had not read Dirty Exes and/or this had been my first book by the fabulous Rachel Van Dyken I am afraid I would have.

The main problem with this book is Jessie. He is childish, irrational, and his need for revenge is misplaced. Until him and Isla start to get along a little better and his anger gets directed to the right person the book was unbearable. Once he realized his errors it got a lot better. It is his ex that deserves his anger and their plans to bring her down are simple but make a much better story.
On my review for Dirty Exes I said Jessie was a character that needed to get his affairs in order and the same is true here. He is in this situation not just because of his exes actions but his too. Blaming Isla and her company just made him one very annoying character.

Isla was the same feisty and strong character we met in Dirty Exes. I love her bright personality!
I don't agree with all her actions, she got a little childish too. But her childish actions made me laugh and often came from a place of fear. She really liked him and it was never her intention to destroy him. She did what she got paid to do, she investigated him.

Isla's aunt though stole the show! I would happily read all her parts again. That woman was inappropriate, incorrigible and hilarious!

This book had great moments. Isla and Jessie did have a great chemistry.

All in all not an amazing book. But I do strongly recommend you read Dirty Exes if you haven't yet. It was honestly one of my favorite romance books this year. Whatever I may think of this book it does not change the fact that Rachel Van Dyken is an amazing writer, this one just wasn't for me.
